google plus htaccess tricks

Here’s a really neat trick with your htaccess file to allow a simple “+” appended to your domain to redirect to your google plus profile.

In your .htaccess file:


RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www.)?petermblair.com$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/\+$
RewriteRule ^.*$ https://plus.google.com/108054765828477841819 [R=301,L]


Just replace “petermblair.com” with your domain, and the profile ID with that of your own profile, and voila, going to http://petermblair.com/+ will take you to my profile.
