Twitter and linux
I use ttytter.pl as my main twitter client, and one of the nice things that it allows you to do is to extend it using custom perl functions.
I’ve decided to write a custom script that takes the tweet, and sends it to notify-send in order to create a little balloon with the tweet.
First, the script:
which calls the bash script:
which does some formatting, gets the avatar of the tweeter, and dislays the message.
Call ttytter.pl like:
$ ttytter.pl -ansi -exts=twitter-notify.pl
